The Engagement Strategist marries media, creative, and strategy to act as the outward facing voice of AMP’s clients on social and develop cohesive, innovative, and effective consumer engagement plans. The Engagement Strategist is in charge of understanding the opportunities, nuances, and best practices of the paid and organic social media and content landscape, and helping AMP’s clients connect authentically with consumers in the social sphere. People in this role must be deeply in tune with consumers, brand voice, culture, and the social media landscape in order to forge deep connections between brands and their audience.


  • Copywriting and brand voice development

  • Customer service

  • Ability to work quickly and respond in-the-moment to consumers

  • Knack for knowing what content resonates with different audiences

  • Passion for understanding cultural trends and consumer motivations

  • Ability to analyze performance across social media platforms to identify trends, learnings and implications from both a paid and organic perspective


Social Content Management

  • Develop and manage ongoing content calendars

  • Manage all posting across client social media platforms

  • Manage owned pages across social platforms

  • UGC collection and curation

Community Engagement

  • Act as the voice of AMP’s clients on social media, responding to and engaging with consumers talking to/about the brand and category

  • Perform social listening across channels to keep a finger on the pulse of category, brand, and cultural conversations, identifying opportunities for brands to engage

Competitive Tracking

  • Track core competitors’ social media messaging and initiatives

  • Track best-in-class brands on social

Social Expertise and Thought Leadership 

  • Cultivate a deep knowledge of social media behaviors across consumer segments, platforms, and verticals, used to inform how AMP’s clients advertise and engage across channels

  • Track and surface emerging platforms, tools, paid and organic offerings, advertising formats, and social media trends including developments as they relate to privacy and data

  • Develop best practices and POVs on how to engage on social and socialize them across the agency

  • Develop and execute strategies to reach/engage with audiences organically, including proactive engagement, surprise-and-delight initiatives, and more

  • Partner closely with the AMP creative and strategy teams to develop briefs and creative that will resonate with client communities and help reach social media objectives

  • Make strategic recommendations for how to best leverage emerging platforms, hashtags, and platform capabilities

  • Assist in annual evaluation of social listening and content publishing tools


Responsible for leading the following client deliverables:

  • Community Management Handbooks that outline best practices, engagement strategies, and processes

  • Monthly content calendars

  • Monthly competitive trackers

  • Monthly trend trackers

  • Agency social POVs

Provides proactive input for the following client deliverables:

  • Overarching social media content strategies (developed in conjunction with brand strategists)

  • Ongoing creative and tactical social briefs

  • Ongoing reporting
