The Marketing Analyst will support the ongoing brand analytics vision, including planning and execution for various brand-level campaigns. In addition, you will collaborate with business units when appropriate to integrate measurement and reporting. Working closely with the Manager of Marketing Analytics, you will serve as a lead or support team member depending on the initiative/campaign. A significant portion of this person’s time will be spent supporting digital campaigns. You will also team with external agencies to coordinate reporting and related communications.

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Manager of Marketing Analytics to support brand-level market research and reporting :
  • Team with external vendors and partners to coordinate projects and deliverables
  • Collaborate with business unit colleagues to compile divisional reports
  • Contribute to monthly thought leadership newsletters
  • Maintain operational standards for team around process, quality assurance, measurement, and documentation
  • Respond to other ad hoc requests as needed
  • Support marketing and media measurement and reporting needs (60%):
  • Liaise with campaign managers to plan for and execute on required metrics
  • Work with business and systems partners to ensure data platforms and infrastructure align with analytics needs
  • Aggregate data from various sources, in order to perform analysis
  • Compile reports based on agreed upon timelines
  • Produce custom reports and/or dashboards and reports for a variety of websites
  • Ensure proper URL tracking code is implemented across click-through media assets
  • Present reports with insights to partners
  • Provide business insights to internal/external partners on various assignments
  • Provide consultative support to initiatives across John Hancock
  • Collaborate with external partners, including agencies, media organizations, and research vendors to produce accurate and actionable reporting, demonstrating tangible business results and actionable insights
  • Team with US Strategy, IT, and Customer Experience (CX) teams to most effectively collect and use data

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Shares standard methodologies with other team members, thus ensuring consistency
  • Demonstrates good judgment during issue identification and escalation process

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field such as Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication and presentation skills
  • Proven technical aptitude (i.e., use of software tools, coding experience, Excel, etc.)


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with limited support from manager
  • Strong problem-solving mentality with natural curiosity to explore data
  • Strong desire to continuously advance skillset through new tools and skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively
  • Dedicatedly identifies projects and raises issues to more senior team members
  • Is flexible, responding quickly and appropriately to change and ad hoc requests
  • Synthesizes implications from analysis to formulate actionable insights
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
